Searching for a subject within dance that could bridge the gap between infancy, pedagogy and dance, Michel Kelemenis identified the body and its discovery as the central axis of a choreographed performance piece specifically intended for a very young public.

Mister Muscle’s Girlfriend is a playful, anatomical fantasy about discovering the body and its movement; it’s a choreographed performance piece specifically intended for the children (4/9 years old).

DANCE SPEAKS TO CHILDREN…
… MAYBE BECAUSE THEY ARE USED TO INTERPRETING CASCADES OF INFORMATION BEYOND THEIR REACH AND THAT SWIMMING IN THE INCOMPREHENSIBLE IS NATURAL TO THEM.
… MAYBE BECAUSE THE STIRRINGS OF THEIR OWN INTELLECTUAL AND EMOTIONAL DEVELOPMENT CAN ONLY BE APPREHENDED PHYSICALLY.
… MAYBE BECAUSE THE CHARACTERISTIC PERMEABILITY OF DANCE, THIS KINETIC EMPATHY, WHOSE PRESENCE AND MOVEMENT CONSTITUTE THE PRIMARY INSTRUMENT, RESONATES WITH THEIR INSTINCT.
IN ANY CASE, THE STORIES AND BYWAYS INVENTED BY CHILDREN ESCAPE US.
