Question de danse 2019

Profound

Profound… all artists are. Some endow their explorations with gravity and commitment; numerous are those who cultivate humor or the absurd; most create the conditions for suspending time in order to seize the moment and escape from reality.

The FESTIVAL DE CRÉATION QUESTION DE DANSE 2019 pays homage to this mosaic while maintaining its fascinating course towards discovery. KLAP Maison pour la danse will unveil sixteen surveys of the human condition, the relationship between one and another, the influence of time, or the consciousness of one’s own temporality.

The event begins spectacularly at the Théâtre Toursky with a fanciful reinterpretation of Carmen by a choreographer who is as unbridled as the work’s heroine, Philippe LaFeuille.

At KLAP Maison pour la danse, when works-in-progress alternate with original creations, Michel Kelemenis, faithful to the event’s origins, joins the artists on stage to question what he has just discovered in unison with audience members.

The COUP DE GRÂCE of this fourteenth edition will be given at the Scène nationale de Marseille, freshly renamed Le Zef, with a new piece for seven dancers of Kelemenis & cie.
